Simple gifts (소박한 선물)     기독교 (개신교) 의 한 분파로서   종교의 자유를 찾아서 미국 땅에서 공동체를 형성했던 셰이커 (Shaker) 교도들이   춤을 추면서 불렸던 노래      이미 1848년에 쉐이커교도의 리더였던   조셉 브래킷 (Shaker Elder Joseph Brackett) 에   의해 작사되어 출판되고 불려졌던 노래였습니다   ( 단순함의 선물-단순해지는 것의 기쁨 (Simple Gifts) )     미국 작곡가   아론 코플랜드 / 애런 코플랜드  (Aaron Copland) (1900-1990) 의   곡으로도 알려져 있습니다   또 코플랜드 는 이 곡을 빌려와서    아름다운 발레곡 '아팔래치아의 봄' 을 작곡했습니다 ...   (안무 : 무용가 마사 그레이엄 (Martha Graham) )     영화음악의 거장 존 윌리엄스 (John Williams) 가   코플랜드 의 "아팔래치아의 봄" 의 선율을 바탕으로   버락 오바마 미국 대통령 취임식 때   화합과 평화를 위한 4중주   Air & Simple Gifts 로   편곡하였습니다    <참고>   그리고     영국 출신    시드니 카터(Sydney Bertram Carter) (1915 -2004) 가  이 곡에   가사를 붙여 (작사)   1963년경에 발표한   춤의 왕(Lord of the Dance) / 이 세상이 창조되던 그 아침에   이 있습니다
